Grace is something we can not earn, it is freely given unmerited favor of God’s love. When you first approach an olive tree you know what is to come will be good. Yet when you sit under an olive tree in the middle of summer, the heat is still present, yet from the color of small leaves the heat bounces off and the wind dances around you. The uncomfortableness of life becomes a little lighter. Still present, but the shade provides comfort and a presence that causes your thoughts to be at ease.
In these moments we can take hold of grace. We can know the strength of the Father that is shown through the olive tree is ever so present. Even in the midst of the heat, we can pause and focus back on His grace that dances around us or reflects off of each leaf to catch our attention.
He gives us nature to see, recall and remember who He is.

1. What is the story (symbolism) behind the paintings?
Each collection carries it own story and inspiration. As you go through the collection page or the painting listing you will find more specifics about its story and inspiration.
2. Should I frame the artwork I purchase or can it go without?
Each painting includes painted sides and the main subject only stays on the top. This makes them perfect to hang without a frame. However, if you want to frame the piece then I recommend so called ‘float frames’.
3. Where do you get your coffee filters from that you use in your paintings?
I use coffee filters as part of my artwork. For coffee lovers, it’s a Chemex paper filter. They have been used when family, guests and artists come to our home. I have also used coffee filters from local cafes. I purposely use these specific coffee filters as a way to incorporate community into the paintings.

The perspective of a bee amazes me. Their eyes are designed to detect movement, the enhancements of certain colors and they use the light around them to navigate. I can only imagine what a close up of a flower might look like to them.
The purest of beauty, allowing the sunlight and natural movement of sound to show them the flower.
Sometimes if we are willing to get closer to the beauty around us, we start to see it in a new light. It starts to speak to us and show off new colors. We are moved to a place of finding more beauty and deep delight in it.
Each day presents moments of true beauty. Where if we are willing to get closer, it will take us on a journey of experiencing something new. Can we allow ourselves to get closer and maybe allow our perspective to change to see something new today?
