I remember the first time I saw an air plant. It completely caught my eye. I was captivated by the colors and how calming and yet strong they were. They did not have normal roots, they did not need the dirt to live off of. They pull the moisture from the air to get their nutrition. The air plant leaves have a fluid movement to them, as if they will come to life right in front of you.
This is a beautiful statement of freedom to me. Freedom takes on so many different forms. To be part of nature gives a feeling of freedom. Come and go as you please or sit and just be. Being a part of something that breathes life back into itself.
The coffee filter in the back brings a feeling of community and warmth. When freedom is experienced in a community it brings a space of trust and growth.
Maybe go find an air plant, get a good cup of coffee and find some nature where you can just be. Find the freedom in your journey where freedom can take a hold of you and you can breathe it out to others.

This air plant type is called Xerographica. It breathes so much beauty and grace into any space it is in. As I was pondering on the word Freedom, I walked past this air plant in our home and it stopped me right in the middle of my thoughts. It awakened a new inspiration around the word freedom for me.
The strength and grace that it holds can awaken new inspiration about freedom.

Freedom brings stability to our souls, it calms our thoughts and allows us to breath. New deep breaths of renewal. Even when we choose to breathe in freedom, like the smell of eucalyptus it calms our tensions and brings clarity to our minds.
For some of us it is like our first sip of coffee in the morning the smell, the warmth in our hands from the mug and that first hint of different notes of flavors hitting our mouth. It brings routine and calmness to our first few moments of the day. Waking up to freedom allows space for us to breath and find comfort in knowing we can move forward and grow.

As each branch and leaf dances with the wind, they play off of each other like a song. To capture this moment you have to let your eyes be the camera that takes in 1000 photos at one time to create one image of cohesiveness and movement.
The off white background reminds me of when I focus back into these moments; the background becomes a little fuzzy and yet my eyes are still at ease with taking it in. Embracing change can bring discomfort in our views and yet move us to a place where change can take place.

These two little air plants were a gift to me. Apart they did not do well, but side by side they thrive. They are stronger together.
Freedom does not have to be a lonely journey, but a journey we step into with each other. Standing alongside one another in search of freedom. In knowing that the sights may look similar and very different to each other. Seeking freedom together brings strength and new growth.

Needing to escape the city. Walks alongside nature can become a space for freedom to take on new life. Stopping to watch the leaves dance and cast shadows on its surroundings moves me to a place of freedom while I can reflect. Reflect on the past, the present and bring hope to the future.
The smell of eucalyptus gives me a feeling of renewal and allows the mind to clear and be at peace. These eucalyptus branches remind me of the feeling of movement in reflection.
